Site Development for Olaf Anderson Construction

Background

Olaf Anderson Construction Inc. is a design/build firm that specializes in commercial development. They have in-house architect, construction department, and management, and subcontract civil engineering and construction staking services, as well as electrical and mechanical services.

Since 1970, HEI has completed numerous projects with Olaf Anderson, ranging from small building and parking lot expansions to large commercial projects.

The Project

As the civil design consultant, we have provided topographic and legal surveys; drainage design (including stormwater detention ponds); site grading; utility design; storm, sanitary, and water main design; construction staking services; and more for several projects for buildings ranging from 10,000 square feet to 430,000 square feet (10 acres). Examples include:

McNeilus Steel—completed civil design for a new 96,600-square-foot industrial building. We also extended the railroad track and completed site designs for the ~900’ x 730’ lot.

Republic National Distributing Company—designed and started this fast-tracked project before winter for the construction of a 48,000-square-foot warehouse with a loading dock area. HEI performed complete civil engineering services plus staking.

Integrity Windows—doubled in size after HEI completed the work necessary to move an existing wetland. This relocated wetland is now used as a partial detention pond to insure good habitat.
