Bismarck State Street Safety Improvements and Preventative Maintenance

Bismarck State Street Safety Improvements and Preventative Maintenance

Background

The Bismarck State Street Safety Improvements and Preventative Maintenance project aimed to enhance the infrastructure and safety of a key transportation route. The project involved comprehensive upgrades to the roadway, traffic signal systems, and accessibility features to meet modern standards and improve the overall user experience.

The Project

Houston Engineering Inc. (HEI) played a key role in the State Street Safety Improvements and Preventative Maintenance project. The work included concrete pavement repair, adding or extending turn lanes, and modifying median access for better safety and accessibility. Storm sewer upgrades improved drainage, while curb ramps were upgraded to meet ADA standards. Roadway lighting and traffic signals were modernized, and minor structure rehabilitation was performed.

HEI led public involvement, engaged with local businesses and stakeholders, and evaluated design alternatives to select the most efficient rehabilitation techniques. Our team also coordinated utility adjustments and managed right-of-way acquisitions.
