North Dakota State Mill Tracks 1-3 Rehabilitation

Background
Since upgrading their facility to accommodate unit trains in 2019, the Mill has continued to refresh sections of their rail infrastructure by improving drainage, upgrading trackbed, and replacing outdated rail and crossings. HEI was tasked with providing rehabilitation to three tracks located near their main office.
The Project
The project involved removing existing railroad tracks and replacing them with new tracks and concrete crossing surfaces. Additionally, aging asphalt paving was replaced with concrete paving, and drainage improvements were made to ensure long-term stability. These upgrades not only enhance the visual aesthetics outside the Mill’s main office building but also significantly improve operational efficiency and safety.
By upgrading the rail system, the Mill can now rely on smoother and more efficient rail operations, reducing potential delays and maintenance costs. The enhanced infrastructure helps ensure that the Mill can maintain its high standards for quality and timely delivery of products.
The Mill has been a valued client of HEI for many years, and we are honored to continue strengthening this partnership. We understand the importance of these improvements to the Mill’s operations, and are committed to supporting their success through reliable engineering solutions.
