Welcome Skyler Lizakowski to HEI

Welcome, Skyler

We are thrilled to announce that Skyler Lizakowski has officially joined the HEI team as a civil engineer! Skyler will be working out of our office in Alexandria, MN. Before joining HEI, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology in 2023 and worked as a project engineer in Oregon.

Skyler joins our water resources crew and will contribute to projects including drainage, stormwater, flood control, levee/floodwall, and hydraulic structures.

What drew you to HEI, and what excites you most about joining our team?
What drew me to HEI is the type of work that HEI does; we foster the future growth of numerous communities and provide safe, thoughtful, and robust water infrastructure that will function for decades to come. What excites me the most about joining HEI is our role in serving the Fargo-Moorhead community through the flood diversion project and being a part of a team that positively impacts the development of our local communities.

What’s your favorite way to relax and unwind after a busy day?
Playing with my dogs or going hiking.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I’ve always been fascinated by the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and visiting any of them would be an amazing and memorable lifelong experience.

What’s your favorite snack?
Oatmeal Creme Pies.

What is your favorite fuel for staying energized (type of coffee, tea, energy drink, etc.)?
Anything with caffeine.
