We are excited to announce a new grant opportunity HEI is involved in that can be of value in advancing the goals of Minnesota Tribal Nations. HEI was recently awarded a Tribal Climate and Environmental Professional and Technical Assistance Grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). Having served Tribal Nations with various projects and services for decades, this grant allows us to provide expert advice and services at no cost to Tribes, including:
- Learning about and vetting potential solutions to natural resource issues Minnesota Tribal Nations are facing
- Identifying grant opportunities that connect to those solutions, developing project concepts and budgets, and assisting with grant applications and submittals
- Engagement and planning efforts related to climate management plans
- Environmental or engineering consultation and assistance, which includes:
- Modeling
- Feasibility studies
- Regulatory guidance and permitting
- Development of construction plans and project designs
- Community engagement and educational assistance
