Wondering what we were up to this quarter one? Here’s a look into our HEI Happenings. Spoiler alert: it includes giving back, holiday celebrations, conferences, company news, fun times, and a balance of work and play.
Company Announcements
We have some exciting company announcements from quarter one, including moving our Sioux Falls office, announcing new shareholders, and celebrating employee milestones! HEI is excited to share that we have four new shareholders: Luke Beckermann, Wes Keller, Nic Cullen, and Bennett Uhler. Read more about our new shareholders here.
Due to the expansion of our Sioux Falls office, we moved to a new office! You can now find us at 4009 West 49th Street Suite 101 Sioux Falls, SD 57106. See our social media post about the Sioux Falls office move here.
We also enjoy celebrating our dedicated employees, take a look at our employees who are celebrating 10 years at HEI here.
Giving Back
We enjoy giving back
to our communities in various ways. During the month of February, our Fargo office had a month-long fundraising campaign for United Way of Cass Clay, where we raised $8,347! Read our entire United Way recap story here.
Next, our HEI team volunteered for Feed My Starving Children, where they packed 116,856 meals. View our social media post here.
Last but not least, HEI was honored to support a cause near and dear to our hearts and sponsor a table at The Outdoor Adventure Foundation’s (OAF) gala on March 23rd. The OAF offers outdoor adventures for young individuals and veterans facing life-threatening illnesses, including the daughter of one of our team members, Briley. Read more about Briley’s story here and view our social media post here.
Conferences
Our HEI team often attends and presents at various conferences throughout the nation. These events serve as invaluable opportunities for our professionals to engage in learning and information exchange with fellow leaders and experts in their respective fields. We’ve recently attended a handful of conferences, including Geo Week, the MN Ag Expo, Dairystrong, Red River Basin Commission Conference, and Minnesota County of Engineers Association Conference.
We’ve celebrated a lot of fun holidays over these past few months! We started off the year with belated Holiday celebrations, which included laser tag, trivia, dinner, and whirly ball. If you couldn’t tell, our favorite way to celebrate is with yummy treats. From World Wetlands Day celebrated with dirt cups, to Pi Day celebrated with PIE, and, of course, Engineers Week celebrated with a variety of treats, including donuts!
Fun Times
As you can tell, all
work and no play isn’t how we roll at HEI. For instance, our team members in Des Moines recently embarked on an exciting task of collecting sediment samples from diverse lakes across Iowa. These samples will be examined to gauge the level of internal phosphorus recycling and its impact on lake water quality. View the social media post about the lake sampling here. But rest assured, we always find time for enjoyable activities.
Our Nebraska team members attended the Nebraska ACEC Good Life Bingo event where proceeds went to fund engineering and architecture scholarships for students in Nebraska. Check out the social media post here.
HEI team members also enjoyed a fun night of bowling, and you can learn more about it here.
Last but not least, a group of HEI colleagues from Omaha and Fargo gathered at Haymarket Park on March 20th to enjoy a thrilling match between the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers and the North Dakota State University Bison. Take a look at our post about it here.
