Hansen Park Featured in Prairie Business Magazine

The Rice Creek Watershed District’s (RCWD) Hansen Park Project was featured in Prairie Business magazine‘s June 2022 issue. As part of this article, the RCWD’s Kyle Axtell as well as HEI’s Dennis McAlpine and Alex Schmidt were interviewed about the innovative iron-enhanced sand filter (IESF) that was built in 2018. This article focuses on how IESFs are changing the game for stormwater solutions, and the Hansen Park Project does just that. The filter not only protects the pond’s water quality, but manages stormwater dosing.
