US Highway 85 Reconstruction: Alexander City Section

In the summer of 2010, the North Dakota Department of Transportation retained HEI to complete a Phase I PCR/Environmental Document on US 85 through the City of Alexander.

The Project

In the summer of 2010, the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) retained Houston Engineering, Inc. (HEI) to complete a Phase I PCR/Environmental Document on US 85 through the City of Alexander. Phase I included an analysis of the roadway, storm sewer system, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and access locations. HEI reviewed both reconstruction and mill and overlay alternatives.

The project included reconstructing of the storm sewer, street lights, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and roadway. We also prepared a traffic operations report, which recommended traffic control options to provide the best continuity and safety for adjacent residents and business owners, was also prepared. Phase II was also awarded to HEI.
