Whit Thomas joins HEI as a Civil Engineer in the Omaha, NE, office. He will be working with the HEI Transportation team on a variety of planning projects. With a robust background in civil engineering, Whit brings a wealth of experience in roadway design and construction, both in rural and urban settings. Originally from York, NE, Whit holds a bachelor’s in mathematics from Doane University and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska.

What drew you to HEI, and what excites you most about joining our team? I had a recruiter contact me about an opportunity here at HEI. Once I interviewed, it was evident that HEI is a driven company that is growing. These factors are what excite me most, as I know I will be able to be involved in projects that continue the growth of this company.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and enjoy golfing, exercising, and riding motorcycles.
What’s your favorite way to relax and unwind after a busy day? Either spending time relaxing with my family or exercising.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Italy and Switzerland. Based on photos I’ve seen and history in the area, it seems to me to be a beautiful area with lots to do.
