Welcome, Gracen!
We are excited to welcome Gracen Crombie as a communications assistant based in our Maple Grove, MN, office. As a part of our corporate team, she will support communications, marketing, proposal development, and document production efforts across the company.
Gracen joins HEI with experience in strategic communications, public outreach, and content development. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in strategic communication from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where she focused on digital strategy, creative development, and media design.
Before joining HEI, Gracen worked with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, creating public-facing content and supporting communications for transportation safety initiatives. Her experience includes writing and editing, public outreach, performing audience research, and developing print and digital materials.

What drew you to HEI, and what excites you most about joining our team?
I wanted to build on my marketing and communications experience while learning more about engineering and the projects that help form our communities. I’m excited to be a part of such a warm and welcoming team.
Where did you grow up?
Bloomington, Minnesota.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love trying new restaurants with my friends, visiting aquariums, and going to see live music. My favorite concert this year was Empire of the Sun.
What’s your favorite way to relax and unwind after a busy day?
Reading! I’m currently binging God of the Woods by Liz Moore.
What’s your favorite snack?
I have a really big sweet tooth! If any pastry is put in front of me, it will be eaten.
