Kathleen Smith and Terrel O’Gorman Join HEI

HEI welcomes two new members in our Fargo office: Kathleen Smith and Terrel O’Gorman!

Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith joins our team as a Communications Specialist located in Fargo, ND. Originally from Louisa, VA, Kathleen is brand new to Fargo, so make sure to give her a warm Midwest welcome! She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in communication studies from James Madison University.

  • Hobbies: I’m a big outdoors person and I love hiking, kayaking, running, rugby, and soccer. When it’s too cold outside I love to read, write, and paint.
  • Family: I live in Fargo with my fiancé.
  • Pets: Two greyhounds and a cat.
  • Random Fact: I used to work for the British government and while I was there, I watched the World Cup with Theresa May and her office aides!
  • Most Memorable Vacation: Biking down the East Coast starting in Virginia Beach and through the Outer Banks.
  • Top Destination on Bucket List: I would love to visit subarctic Canada and see polar bears and beluga whales.
  • Most Memorable Concert: I saw Father John Misty in Richmond, VA, where he crowd surfed and jumped on me.
  • Favorite Sports: I LOVE watching hockey, go Caps! My favorite sport to play is either soccer or rugby.
  • Currently Reading: I’m a huge memoir fan. I’m currently rereading Educated, and I just finished The Name of the Wind and A Wise Man’s Fear.
  • On My Playlist: Arctic Monkeys, Father John Misty, Hers, Summer Salt, and The Black Keys.
  • Community Involvement: I volunteered with the Wildlife Center of Virginia, where I would assist in the rehabilitation of wildlife. I even got to take care of baby bear cubs! I also volunteered for Girls on the Run, which empowers young girls through activity and mentorship. I also do a lot of 5K runs for charity.
  • Reasons I’m excited to be part of the HEI team: So far, every single person I have met at HEI has been so kind and welcoming. I can already tell that HEI is an environment that fosters growth and cares about the people within the company. I’m excited to be a part of something that contributes to the community while putting as much effort into their team as well!

Terrel O’Gorman

Terrel O’Gorman joins our team as a Civil Engineer located in Fargo, ND. Originally from Grand Rapids, MN, Terrel earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University. Welcome to HEI!
