HEI Welcomes Two New Shareholders

We are excited to announce that two professionals at HEI have recently been named shareholders: Aaron Carrell and Adam Pawelk.

“We are thrilled to welcome Aaron and Adam as shareholders at HEI. Their extensive experience and dedication at HTPO prior to joining HEI have been invaluable, and we look forward to their continued contributions as part of HEI. Their leadership will undoubtedly help us enhance our services and strengthen our commitment to making positive impacts in the communities we serve.” – Gregg Thielman, President/CEO

Aaron Carrell

Aaron Carrell started his career with HTPO after graduating from Missouri S&T in 2004. He was president of HTPO, bringing more than 20 years of experience in civil project management and engineering design to the HEI team. Aaron plays a key role in roadway, trail, utility, and site development design, focusing on thorough coordination and communication to deliver high-quality projects that meet client needs and exceed expectations. Aaron is passionate about using technology to deliver practical, innovative infrastructure solutions. His expertise spans site evaluation and planning, stormwater management, feasibility studies, public involvement, and utility coordination.

Aaron lives in Eden Prairie, MN, with his wife and two daughters (pictured below). Outside of work, he enjoys playing pickleball, mountain biking, and spending time with friends and family, whether around a fire or at the table for a board game.

Adam Pawelk

Adam Pawelk served as vice president of HTPO and led the construction management department, bringing civil engineering experience to public and private projects. Since joining HTPO in 2004, Adam has distinguished himself through his attention to detail, quality of work, and strong project management skills. His ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and subconsultants ensures that projects stay on track and meet client needs efficiently. As a licensed professional engineer in Minnesota, Adam’s expertise spans feasibility studies, roadway and utility design, stormwater management, permitting, and construction administration. His leadership and problem-solving approach make him a trusted resource for both clients and colleagues. Additionally, Adam served the Watertown, MN, City Council, providing him with a unique perspective on municipal needs and infrastructure challenges.

A longtime resident of Watertown, Adam enjoys working on home projects and following Minnesota sports, though he knows the highs and lows that come with being a Twins and Vikings fan. His dedication to engineering, leadership, and community involvement makes him a valued addition to HEI’s group of shareholders.
