Join us in welcoming Karina Hanson to HEI!

Karina Hanson recently joined HEI as a civil engineer in our Maple Grove, MN, office. Originally from Valparaiso, IN, Karina brings a strong academic background to the team, holding a bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Ecological Engineering from Purdue University and a master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Welcome aboard Karina!

Fun Facts:

  • What drew you to HEI, and what excites you most about joining our team? I was drawn to HEI by the interesting water resources projects that the team works on, and the variety of work that I’d be able to do. I am most excited to learn more about water resources in a consulting context, and to improve my skills as an engineer!
  • What do you enjoy doing outside of work? I really enjoy birding, hiking, and playing video games.
  • What’s your favorite way to relax and unwind after a busy day? To relax, I play strategy or casual video games, or I like to watch YouTube with my cat in my lap.
  • If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I really want to go to Japan! I have never left the US before, but I would love to try authentic Japanese food and get to experience the culture and environment over there.
  • What’s your favorite snack? Veggie Straws.
  • What is your favorite fuel for staying energized? Green tea.
