HEI Celebrates Engineers Week 2022

HEI celebrated Engineers Week (February 20-26) by showcasing several of our employees on social media throughout the week. They shared a variety of stories including what led them to their career choice as well as describing a rewarding project they’ve worked on in their career so far. You can view all the social media posts below.

In addition to the social media content, HEI’s teams celebrated the week with a variety of events. Read below for more details.

Discover Engineering

HEI’s Bismarck team volunteers annually at Discover Engineering held at the Kirkwood Mall. Several employees (Nick Graham, Alan Kemmet, Travis Johnson, Dan Heitzman, and Nic Cullen) and their children attended the event and assisted with HEI’s booth. Nic Cullen led the coordination of HEI’s involvement in this event.

“It is a joint coordination effort between the North Dakota Gateway to Science, the Board of Registration, the North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers, and local engineering firms,” states Nic. “Each entity has its own ‘station’ that teaches a different STEM-related principle. Over the many years [that] HEI has been doing this, we have taught about the principles of electrostatics with Van de Graff generators and other static electricity experiments.”

HEI’s Travis Johnson was quoted in the news article that covered this event. Read the article here.
