Congratulations to Michael Gunsch for Being Named to NSPE’s 2024 Class of Fellows

Michael Gunsch was Welcomed to the 2024 Class of Fellows for The National Society of Professional Engineers.

The Fellow designation is bestowed upon active members of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) who have shown exceptional dedication to their profession, the Society, and their community. HEI is proud to announce that Michael Gunsch, a Senior Civil Engineer at HEI, has received this honor. To gain Fellow distinction is the highest honor, as since its start in 2000, only one percent of all NSPE members have attained this highest rank.

Michael Gunsch, a dedicated member of the NSPE and the North Dakota Society (NDSPE) since 1983, has an impressive record of service. His contributions include holding various elected offices at both the Chapter and State levels, chairing the NDSPE Legislative Committee for the past decade, and serving as chairman for the American Council of Engineering Companies State-Wide Committee (ACEC/SWC) for 4 years and being a member for an additional 13 years.

On a national level, Michael has been involved with the Licensure Qualifications and Procedure Committee and has spent 26 years on the NDSPE MATHCOUNTS Volunteer Committee, including 3 years of the NSPE MATHCOUNTS National Committee.

Michael Gunsch’s outstanding contributions have earned him several prestigious awards, including the Elwyn F. Chandler Award from the NDSPE. His dedication extends beyond his professional work, as he has made significant contributions to the Bismarck community over the past four decades. Alongside the other 2024 honorees, Michael exemplifies the virtues and commitment expected of NSPE Fellows, solidifying his position as a highly respected leader in the engineering field.
