Ahrendt and Sanford Join HEI

HEI welcomes two new hires joining our Fargo team: Brian Ahrendt and Beau Sanford. Learn more about them below.

Brian Ahrendt

Brian Ahrendt is a Civil Engineer who will focus on site development projects. He will prepare and review plans, reports, and specifications as well as provide support to project managers with construction cost estimates, construction observation, and client communications. Originally from Wahpeton, ND, Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University and an associate’s degree in land surveying and civil engineering technology from North Dakota State College of Science. Brian has grown his experience from previous internships at Cass County (ND) Highway Department, Wilkin County Highway Department, and Bolton & Menk, Inc.

  • Hobbies: Anything outdoors and model railroading
  • Random Fact: Former Infantry Team Leader in US Army
  • Cheers for the Minnesota Twins
  • I’m excited to be a part of the HEI team because I’m excited to work on meaningful projects that benefit the community and to grow my career at HEI.

Beau Sanford

Beau Sanford is a Civil Engineer who will focus on water resources and infrastructure projects. He will prepare and review plans, reports, and specifications as well as provide support to project managers with construction cost estimates, construction observation, permit applications, and client communications. Originally from Ironton, MN, Beau holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University. Beau has previous experience working at the Cass County (MN) Highway Department.

  • Hobbies: Hunting, playing and watching baseball, and coin collecting
  • Enjoys listening to country music
  • Cheers for the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Wild
