2021 Minnesota County Engineers Association Project of the Year Award

Congratulations to the Pennington County Highway Department on earning the 2021 Project of the Year Award from the Minnesota County Engineers Association (MCEA) for the New South Side CSAH 8 Corridor project!

This project, located in Thief River Falls, MN, was recognized with this award during the MCEA annual conference in January. HEI is proud to have been part of this project. HEI was the primary consultant with the role of planning, surveying, environmental processing, preliminary and detailed design of the roadway, roundabouts, and bridge for a new corridor connection on CSAH 8.

The Pennington County CSAH 8 New South Side Corridor was a multi-contract project that included a roundabout on Trunk Highway (TH) 32, a roundabout at the junction of CSAH 17 and CSAH 8, and a new bridge connecting a new 0.9-mile urban roadway corridor over the Red Lake River.
