Location: Shakopee, Minnesota
Client: Minnesota Corn Growers
Background
The Minnesota Corn Growers Association needed an accurate solution for tracking best management practices (BMPs). Studies often point to agriculture as a main source of pollutant loading to Minnesota waters and overlook producers’ ongoing efforts to support conservation practices. This project was designed to address these issues.
The Project
HEI developed an online BMP tracking database and web mapping application to meet the specific needs of Minnesota’s agricultural community.
The tool supports the needs of ongoing initiatives while serving Minnesota’s larger agricultural community to tell their story of conservation successes. The system allows clients to easily enter newly-adopted conservation practices and BMPs into a tracking system, using a username-protected online system.
