Congratulations to David Johnson for being named the Deputy Regional Vice President (RVP) of the
Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) for the Lakes Region. David will serve in this role from May 2022 to May 2023 under Kevin Wilson, RVP. David's nomination for this position was presented to the post presidents of the Lakes Region, and they unanimously supported his nomination.
David’s position will help connect the National and Lakes Region posts, have an increased regional presence at events, and provide post increased resources. As this is an RVP-elect position, David will transition to the Regional Vice President position for the Lakes Region beginning May 2023.
David's History with SAME:
- David Johnson, ENV SP. SAME, started as Young Member of SAME in the mid-1990s and has been a member of multiple Lakes Region Posts.
- Under his leadership, the MSP Post has stood up a successful leadership discussion forum, that recurs monthly, outside of regular Post meetings.
- He has been a dedicated Board Member of the Minneapolis Saint Paul Post since 2000 and has served in every role imaginable, including his current role as President.
- He has served in various Director roles, as Vice President, and as President. He also chaired the Registration Committee and was part of the planning committee for the Joint Engineer Training (JETC) Conference held in Minneapolis.

A Minnesota native, David earned his master’s degree in environmental biology from the University of Minnesota and his bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Gustavus Adolphus College. His passion for customer service is valuable to both our clients and employees as he leads processes and strategies across our firm.
