The North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers (NDSPE) has five chapters within the state with several HEI employees as active members. Each chapter hosts an annual awards banquet and this year Nic Cullen and Zach Herrmann were awarded the Young Engineer of the Year Award for Chapter 3 and Chapter 4, respectively. The award recognizes NDSPE members who have made outstanding contributions to the engineering profession and the community during the early years of their career.
Nic has been with HEI since 2011 working within HEI's water resources sector. He provides surface water modeling design solutions throughout North Dakota serving out of HEI's Bismarck office. Zach has been with HEI since 2007 working in HEI's water resources sector serving from the Fargo office. He specializes in assisting water resource districts and watershed districts to identify, establish strategies for, and implement water management solutions throughout the Red River Basin.
HEI was also recognized with an Outstanding Design Award for the 2nd Street/Downtown Fargo Flood Protection Project. The award recognizes an outstanding design project of an NDSPE-affiliated firm that demonstrates exceptional engineering design, innovation, originality, functionality, and overall achievement in overcoming challenges and meeting client satisfaction.
