Location:  East-Central Iowa
Client:  Iowa Agricultural Water Alliance

Background

HEI teamed with the Iowa Agricultural Water Alliance (IAWA) to support the completion of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Conservation Collaboration Grant (CCG) for the Middle Cedar Watershed in Iowa.

The Project

For this two-year project, HEI will provide project management—including various team and stakeholder meetings—and present the planning project to city and local business leaders.

As part of the project, HEI will also:
  • Provide feedback on IAWA’s stakeholder engagement plan
  • Use the Prioritize, Target, and Measure Application (PTMApp) to deliver planning products for Middle Cedar
  • Compare various approaches for watershed planning and provide the results with practice locations
These tasks will result in a watershed plan that will deliver water quality improvement and protection for the Middle Cedar watershed. It will also serve as a blueprint that can be replicated for other watersheds throughout Iowa.
