Background

The Headwaters Cedar Creek, within the North Raccoon River Watershed, is the focus of an Iowa Water Quality Initiative and has a 12-digit HUC water quality plan. It will also be a focal area of a flood reduction planning effort.

The Project

HEI worked with agricultural partners and local governments to enhance data for targeting conservation, estimating water quality benefits of conservation, and developing a conservation investment guide. The work was presented as a multi-stakeholder workshop that included local farm leaders, local conservation staff, state officials, and non-governmental organization (NGO) partners.
